Hi, and welcome everyone! I’m just your friendly Malaysian storyteller — born and raised in Sarawak, on the island of Borneo, and now settled in Johor Bahru. I juggle big ideas, small wonders, and a constant cup of kopi. ☕ Writing is my way of making sense of a beautifully messy world, from the mind-boggling reaches of science to the intricate threads of culture, philosophy, and spirituality.
Living in Malaysia, where diversity is the spice of life (sometimes literally), my writing reflects a mix of perspectives. I explore everything from tech revolutions like AI and blockchain to universal debates like evolution versus intelligent design. Oh, and if there’s a sci-fi twist to it, you better believe I’m adding a reference or two! (Star Trek fans, we’re cool, but Star Wars owns my heart. XAXAXA).
This blog is my digital mamak table — a space to break down complex ideas with humour, wit, and maybe a few aha moments. My goal? To keep you thinking, laughing, and maybe questioning a thing or two. (Personally I don’t go to mamak, XAXAXA). With over 445 articles and counting, I write about technology, artificial intelligence, religion and faith, philosophy, science, Malaysian culture, and whatever else keeps me up at night.
By day, I work in IT — the kind of job where people ask you to fix their printer and you smile and pretend you have not been asked that question 400 times. By night (or at least on Friday evenings at 6:45 PM), I teach Body Sculpt fitness classes — proving that Gen-X still has moves. I used to love yoga, and while I don’t practise it as much these days, I still weave yoga stretches into my Body Sculpt cooldowns. When the dumbbells are put away, you will find me gaming on my Switch 2 or original PlayStation, headbanging to metal music, or tinkering with retro emulation handhelds. Handheld gaming has a permanent spot in my heart — from the Game Boy Advance to the Switch 2, some loves never fade.
When I’m not overthinking the next article, I’m probably lost in a multiverse of ideas, binge-watching a sci-fi classic, or taking a walk to remind myself there’s life beyond the screen. I’ve wandered through China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Singapore, India, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, and Serbia — but my favourite destinations will always be Japan and Greece. And when it comes to food? I’m a carnivore at heart, and satay is my forever favourite. I share the best food spots as a Google JB Local Guide.
So dive in, enjoy the musings, and remember — curiosity doesn’t kill cats; it helps us understand the universe a little better.
Let’s share the adventure!
Thanks for stopping by!
