What are Torrent seeds, peers, trackers & pieces?

Torrents are the transfer protocol between peer and peer data. This means that the download files that are submitted by others are not a central source (in real-time).

Seeds: Number of colleagues who have already downloaded and uploaded the files.

Peers (or Leechers): A leecher is a peer who has no file in its entirety and downloads the file.

Trackers: A tracker is a server that tracks seeds and pairs (swarm: all pairs sharing torrent-uploaded or downloaded) of which are within the swarm.

Pieces: this applies to torrent files that are broken into equivalent bits (e.g., 64kB, 128kB, 512kB, 1 MB, 2 MB, or 4 MB). The pieces are randomly distributed among peers to maximise trading performance.
